Justice Through Peace: Prof. SK Kalimuddin’s Call for Truth on Gandhi Jayanti, Sainthia, Birbhum

On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s Birth Anniversary, a powerful message of peace and justice echoed through the streets of Sainthia. Standing before Sainthia Police Station, Prof. Sheikh Kalimuddin, the All India President of INSAF (Indian National Socialistic Action Forces), addressed the public with a deep sense of concern and determination. While honoring Gandhi’s ideals of non-violence and truth, Prof. Kalimuddin raised a burning question — “Where is justice in Birbhum?” Referring to the tragic incident of the 13-year-old girl from Rampurhat, he said, “It has been 20 days since the FIR was filed, but where are the culprits? Where is the investigation? We demand the harshest punishment for those monsters who committed this inhuman act.” Linking the spirit of Gandhi with the legacy of tribal leaders like Sidhu, Kanhu, and Birsa Munda, he reminded the crowd, “They taught us to stand up against injustice. Today, in their spirit, we ask — what is the administration doing for justice in Birbhum?” Expressing concern over public safety, he said, “The administration promised protection to every citizen. Yet, in reality, a minor was brutally raped and murdered — and her name now lives only in reports. Is this the justice we deserve?” The gathering was attended by Ashtam Mal, District President of INSAF, along with other district leaders, local workers, and concerned citizens. In his closing words, Prof. Kalimuddin vowed, “This fight is not just for one family — it’s a fight for justice itself. INSAF will stay in the field, we will continue our movement, until the guilty are brought to justice.” Justice will rise again. INSAF stands for peace, truth, and equality — echoing Gandhi’s dream through today’s struggle.
